"Quality" has become such a buzzword in the marketplace that it's difficult for consumers to know when a company is being real and when they're blowing smoke in mirrors. This is perhaps one of most significant reasons car buyers turn to Strategic Vision Inc.'s annual Total Quality Index, assessing not only the problems people have with their vehicles but their emotional resonance to buying, owning, and driving the car.
We are pleased to tell you that in Strategic Vision's 2011 Total Quality Index, three Volkswagen models earned the title of Top Quality Leaders: the Volkswagen Jetta sedan, Volkswagen Golf hatch , and Volkswagen Tiguan CUV. The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta led the Medium Car segment. The 2011 Volkswagen Golf triumphed in the Small Multi-Functional Vehicle segment. And, the 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan took all in the Entry Utility Vehicles category.
Alexander Edwards, President, Strategic Vision explains that when consumers say they love [X] about their vehicle, sales inevitably improve. "We [Strategic Vision, Inc.] explicitly measure the emotional impact of each vehicle attribute and ask the customer what they love about their vehicle," he says. "Jetta...owners report more Love than most all of their competitors. This is why it is no surprise to us that the Jetta...had their best sales ever with their 2011 models."1
In addition to earning three Top Quality designations from Strategic Vision, Inc. for the Jetta, Golf, and Tiguan, Volkswagen received another honor in the study. Specifically, Volkswagen of America was rated best Full-Line Corporation.
"Volkswagen of America is excited about the outstanding recognition that our company and vehicles have received in the 2011 Total Quality index", says Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America. "It's clear that Volkswagen is top of mind among our growing customer base and that our vehicles continue to provide a stimulating driving experience."2
