"Another Happy Customer-for-Life"

My wife and I have been shopping for a minivan for the last month. We were debating between a VW Routan and a Toyota Sienna. We have been to five different Toyota dealers and three VW dealers. The "grind" is always the same. You park in the "Customer Parking," and a salesman that is "up" jumps you before you get out of the car. From there, it is a very controlling, high-pressure process, frankly, most of our interactions were unpleasant salesmen get mad if you leave without buying something. They often waste an hour or more of one's time, just to create the "expectation" that we now have to buy something.

When we arrived at Lindsay, it was radically different. We could get out of the car and actually look around. The internet had "full disclosure" pricing. Our salesman, Trent, was very helpful and did not pressure us into buying. There was none of the degrading sales sheets with big numbers written in marker or "today only" ultimatums. We did have a hiccup with the delivery, but Trent and the sales manager stepped up and corrected the problem.

Typical car dealerships program customers to be constantly on the defensive. Lindsay was different, and every interaction was fantastic. Everybody was very professional. The salesmen and the porter we talked to seemed like they genuinely enjoyed working at Lindsay VW, and said positive things about the management. People create the value in any business, and we got the impression that everybody really CARED about the customers. Everybody "talks the talk" during the sales process, but the Lindsay team is completely committed to their customers.

We intend to be life-long customers, and actively recruit our friends and family to go to Lindsay VW first. Again, thank you for a fantastic sales experience.

"Quite Satisfied with our Experience"

Overall, we were quite satisfied with our experience. In particular, we really appreciate Tom's attention to detail and the work put into finding the exact vehicle that we wanted. And, we were quite pleased to see that the deal we agreed to on the front end was exactly what we paid when we walked out the door. This makes us want to return for our next car purchase/lease.
We have constructive feedback on two fronts:
First, the process took a lot longer than we expected since we were there for two and a half hours and had been told we could be "in and out in 15 minutes". While we never really expected that it would only take 15 minutes, we were thinking that it would take more in the range of 60-90 minutes.
Second, we finished at just after 9 p.m. and didn't ever do a complete walk around the car with Tom. During daylight the next day, we noticed a small chip in the windshield. We have no way of knowing whether it was there when we left the dealership, but we noticed nothing while driving that would have caused the chip. Lindsay VW made it clear that this was not something that they would take care of, and we were stuck with a $450 windshield replacement on the first day of our lease.

Alfonzo was a great person to deal with. I pretty much knew what I wanted in my Golf TDI, and the fact that there was one already on the lot with the options I desired made the decision that much easier.

My only concern is that during the sales process Alfonzo was pulled away to help a VWoA corporate employee who was exchanging a vehicle. It would have been nice if another sales person would have been able to assist her, and then Alfonzo would have been able to focus his attention more towards my sale. I would have thought that a sale would not want to be interrupted in order for a corporate employee to get a new car to play with. Although, Alfonzo was very respectful during that process and I was not short on time so I was able to work with the situation, but another customer may not have been so understanding.

Lindsay VW has so far been a great group to deal with, including the loan officer who assisted in getting me the terms I was looking for. I am very happy to have purchased from them, and will recommend Alfonzo and Lindsay VW to anyone I know in the market for a VW.
